Many of us around the world have heard of Manny Pacquiao. He is famous for his boxing records and last night he just won another boxing match that many people all over the world watched. It was held at Las Vegas. Many people celebrated his victory. But why is the world celebrating with him?
Manny shows a lot of passion in what he does. The world needs people like him to be a good example for others. He is not only passionate in boxing but also in many other things such as patriotism and spirituality. Many Filipinos would know that he is fighting to help boost the economy. He is also a very smart man. As a senator in the Philippines, a contemporary and influential political figure. He advocates spirituality as one of the leaders of the country. Because of his strong passions in life, winning the boxing match last night meant celebration of people who can see that strong passion in him.
It was just a few weeks ago, Philippines received another international attention through winning the Miss Universe in 2018. This opened a gateway for more international recognition, improvements in the country and most importantly, the positive attitude that many Filipinos radiate around the world. When Catriona won the crown, she influenced the Filipinos to stand taller and walk gracefully. Manny Pacquiao taking over the ring amplified the meaning of being a Filipino. This international attentions is meaningful to the Philippines.
Despite that there are so many successes to celebrate, many people, sadly but usually the Filipinos themselves, will argue that Manny Pacquiao is being used as a puppet by the government to gain popularity. Because of the Philippines’s long history of government corruption, it’s people are still struggle with having trust in their leaders. Trusting and respecting your leaders is important in building a strong nation.
Fortunately, there are still many people who keep their faith in humanity and will always see the positive perspective in life. It is not only the Filipinos who believe that there is a great tomorrow to celebrate, but, also the entire world who believes the same virtue. The world is celebrating with Manny Pacquiao!
