CHESS WORKSHOP
To all who wants to learn chess, I will be providing an introduction to chess FUN workshop in Banff and Canmore. If you are interested in this activity, please RSVP on our website. During the workshop, I there is simultaneous casual meetup happening as well. Workshop participants may leave anytime during the course or workshop to leave the venue, spectate, or join the casual chess meetup. I welcome everyone starting at any age to as senior as you can be! I am offering this program for free with the help of Town of Banff, Town of Canmore and all other organizations and supporters that has continuously valued me as a community member.
As for my chess resume: I am a speed chess player. Recently, I have competed in a classic tournament in Banff Open 2022. I also started the Canmore Chess Club where we started from 6 players and we grew to a 100 in the first month. I also revived the Banff Chess Club. I also went to Mînî Thnî Chess Club to find great chess players of indigenous peoples of Canada and established the club with the help of Iyarhe Nakoda Youth Program. Currently, I am sitting as a Director of the Board of the Alberta Chess Association.
As an artist, my approach to teaching chess is through story telling. We will use creativity to have a strong understanding of the game of chess. We will discover why this game is very ancient.

VOLUNTEERS ARE WELCOME TO HELP SETUP TABLES, CHAIRS, CHESS BOARDS, KEEPING THE VENUE TIDY, ENTERTAINING VISITORS, ETC.
Note for the club members playing in Casual Meetup: this will be the last meetup for the season, we will resume chess in February 2023. Please stay tuned on our website.
